New VA Rules for Sellers

VA update and what this means for sellers.

A new requirement has been put in place for VA Loans in certain counties in Wisconsin. All properties in those counties must be inspected for wood destroying insects, it must be completed by a Pest Inspection/Control Company (ie Orkin, Terminex or similar companies).

A form must be completed by the inspector, and after the VA reviews it, if any evidence of wood destroying insects, the home will have to be treated and any damage caused by the insects will need to be repaired.

The VA also states that the borrower cannot pay for the inspections, this will have to be done at the cost of the seller.

Here is a list of counties where the wood destroying insect inspection is required:

  • Crawford
